The San Antonio College Women's Center is seeking former
Young Women/Young Men's Conference participants. Students who attended
the conference during previous years will be featured in the program at
the next annual conference on Feb. 22, 2003 at San Antonio College. Past
conference participants will be included in a "Where Are They Now?"
section of the program.
"Hundreds of high schools students all over the city attend this conference every year," said Dr. Helen Vera, SAC Women's Center counselor. "We want new students to see the accomplishments of participants from years past." The Young Women's/Young Men's Conference is held annually with a mission to bring together all high school young women and men for a day of information focusing on self-esteem and leadership development, leading to enhanced career and educational options. The conference also presents positive role models to offer messages of hope and encouragement. The next conference will feature $100,000 in total scholarships to be given away -- the highest amount ever awarded. To be included in next year's Young Women's/Young Men's Conference program, call Debbie Middleton, SAC Women's Center, at 733-2299. |
