San Antonio College will host the 9th Annual Poetry Slam on Tuesday, March 30 at 7 p.m. in McAllister Auditorium. Only students enrolled in colleges of the Alamo Community College District are eligible to compete. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three contestants.

According to English Instructor Jane Focht-Hansen, Poetry Slam Coordinator, participants will be selected based on originality of language and subject, poetic range or variety, structure, simplicity, insight, impact, performance potential, enrollment, and completed application packet.

Poems should be submitted by March 23, at 3 p.m. to Ms. Focht-Hansen, San Antonio College, English Department, Gonzales Hall, Room 130C, 1300 San Pedro Ave., or by email to jfochtha@accd.edu. For more information, call 733-2520.
