SAC Women's Center Receives Levi Strauss Grant

The Levi Strauss Foundation Board has awarded a $20,000 grant to the San Antonio College Women's Center and Adult Re-Entry Program for general support of the program.

"The grant is made from the Foundation's Community Transition Fund, which was established to assist communities affected by Levi Strauss & Co. plant closures," said Theresa Fay-Bustillos, Executive Director of the Levi Strauss Foundation.

The grant will support the San Antonio College Women's Center mission of providing comprehensive educational services to meet the complex needs of target populations- adult re-entry women, dislocated workers, women heads of household, welfare recipients, and other non-traditional female populations - with the ultimate goal of retraining them through the completion of their educational programs.

The three areas of the San Antonio College Women's Center programs include Educational Support Services, the Adult Re-Entry Program, and Community Outreach/Initiatives. For more information, call 210-733-2299.
