Maldonado Donates Jeweler's Tools for SAC Art Metals Classes
Hilbert R. Maldonado has donated jewelry tools and equipment valued at $13,798.50 to San Antonio College's Art Metals classes, part of the college's Fine Arts Program in the Visual Arts & Technology Department.  This donation will enhance the Art Metals class jewelry laboratory in honor of the legacy of his father, the late Philip Maldonado, owner of Maldonado's Jewelry in downtown San Antonio for more than 55 years.
In addition, Philip Maldonado's personal notes, photos and background information are also being donated and shared as a part of his legacy.
"San Antonio College is very honored to receive this donation from Mr. Maldonado in honor of his father," said Dr. Robert E. Zeigler, President.
He added, "This generous gift to the jewelry laboratory at San Antonio College will preserve Philip Maldonado's legacy.  This is a very significant contribution from his son Hilbert, and we will insure that it is used to benefit future generations of jewelers who will receive their training at San Antonio College."
