San Antonio College student Patricia Arauza has placed First in Dental Assisting for the state of Texas in the SkillsUSA Texas-College/Post-secondary Division 33rd Leadership and Skills Championships.
Arauza, a Dental Assisting major, will compete in the 41st Skills USA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Kansas City, Mo., June 20-24.
Skills USA is a national organization with the goal of providing experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development.
The San Antonio College Dental Assisting Program was named an "exemplary program" in 2003 by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for "exceeding all standards."
