The community is invited to hear a free talk by Darrell Barker, an engineer for A B S Consulting and an explosives analyst. His talk will be held at San Antonio College on Monday, April 4 at 11 a.m. in the Chance Academic Center, Room 100. Barker will discuss his college experiences, career path, and how his faith affects his work. The interactive format will include questions and answers. Free pizza will be served while supplies last. The Baptist Student Ministry is sponsoring this event.
"Darrell Barker is an internationally recognized expert in explosion analysis," said Barry Bridges, Director of Baptist Student Ministry. He said, "This is a don't-miss event for students interested in engineering technologies, protective services, and construction."
He added that Barker travels extensively conducting site work involving process industries, utilities, and construction, and he has done contract work for government organizations, including NASA and the U.S. Navy. He has testified as an expert witness in court cases involving explosions, such as the Oklahoma City bombing.
