Nomination Deadline Is Extended

For SAC Outstanding Former Student Award
The deadline to nominate someone for the 2005-2006 San Antonio College Outstanding Former Student Award has been extended to Friday, Oct. 21 at 5 p.m.
The award was originally presented to the late U.S. Congressman Henry B. Gonzalez and has since been awarded to people from a variety of fields who have made outstanding contributions in their professions and through community service. Hector M. Flores, LULAC President, and Dr. Joe W. Neal, President Emeritus of the Texas International Education Consortium, won the award for 2004-2005.  Other recipients have included artist Jesse Treviño, archaeologist Lisa Brown, psychiatrist Robert L. Jimenez, and Our Lady of the Lake University President Tessa Pollack.
Nominations should include the nominator's name and contact information and as much information as possible about the nominee.  This includes a current resume or biographical profile (including occupation, address, accomplishments, and, if known, dates of attendance at SAC and social security number), clippings if available, and letter of nomination detailing the reasons why the nominee should be considered for the award.  Based on this information, a college committee will review all nominations and make a recommendation to the president.

Nomination forms are optional but may be picked up at the Public Relations Office, Fletcher Administration Center, room 313, or by calling 210/733-2147 to request a form by fax or mail.  All materials may be submitted in person, by fax (210/733-2146), or by mail to Janet Lozano, San Antonio College, Public Relations Office, FAC 313, 1300 San Pedro Ave., San Antonio, TX 78212-4299.
