Darlene Curtis has been selected as the Director of Student Life at San Antonio College. A native of Ingelhard, North Carolina, she has had 20 years of experience in the Army, in addition to her work with the Texas Workforce Center.
"I am very pleased that Darlene Curtis is our new Director of Student Life," said Dr. Joy Black, Dean of Student Affairs. "She has years of experience directly supervising departments with large staffs and extensive experience in program and team management, strategic planning, training and development."
In the military, Curtis was a patient care specialist and later held several management positions, completing her Army career at Ft. Sam Houston with the rank of Sergeant First Class. She later worked at the Texas Workforce Center in San Antonio under the contractor SER Jobs for Progress.
She earned her Associate and BS degrees from Regent's College in Albany, New York, and in December she will receive her Masters in Education, with a concentration in Adult Education, from the University of the Incarnate Word.
