WHAT: 49th Annual San Antonio College Folk Dance Festival
Since 1958, the San Antonio College (SAC) Folk Dance Festival has been promoting and preserving the multi-cultural heritage of San Antonio and South Texas. The event has grown to now include workshops, a youth concert and the evening concert that features dances from Mexico, Europe, and the U.S.

9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Dance Workshops (dances and folklore of Spain) hosted by the San Antonio Dance Umbrella
In the Candler Physical Education Center at SAC.

4 p.m.
"Dance Around the World" youth dance concert featuring youth dance troupes from San Antonio and surrounding areas presenting dances from Mexico, Europe and the U.S.
In McAllister Auditorium at SAC.
Youth concert is free.
6 - 8 p.m.
SAC Folk Dance Festival concert with groups from San Antonio, Austin, Houston and more will present dances from Mexico, Europe, and the U.S. Costumes represent authentic dress from the respective countries.
In McAllister Auditorium at SAC.
$15 general admission; free for ACCD students, faculty and staff, and children under 13.
Proceeds benefit scholarships to San Antonio College.
The 2007 Festival Honors to be presented include:
- Texas Folklore Award: Jo Ann Andera, Texas Folklife Festival
- National Dance Award: Doug Miller, Folklore Village, Dodgeville, Wisconsin
- Texas Dance Award: Chiqui Linares, Flamenco (workshop teacher)
