STUDENT APPEAL FOR ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW
In accordance with the published policy of San Antonio College, students who have
earned a GPA below 2.0 are placed on Academic Probation.
If the student fails to raise their GPA above 2.0 or produce a productive grade rate in
the subsequent semester(s), then their scholastic status is demoted to Academic Dismissal
and the student is required to sit out a semester.
In lieu of this mandatory expulsion, students do have an option to petition the Dean for
consideration of an exception to policy. San Antonio College honors Academic
Dismissal from other institutions, and so transfer students on Academic Dismissal
are required to also complete the petition packet.
Instructions to Student (Steps 1-4):
1. Complete form and print off. If printing first, then write legibly using either blue or black ink.
2. You must complete and sign Parts 1 and 2
of the student petition; and read, understand, and sign the Enrollment Contract.
3. Deliver by mail, in person, or fax the entire petition to your Adminstrator's Office.
Contact information (fax, phone, offices hours) for each office will be available at
the respective Dean's web site.No petitions will be accepted after the applicable term has started.
Approximate turn-around time may vary.
You will be contacted by either the Dean or by the Dean's designee(s) at the
telephone number(s) you provide.
Incomplete petition packets will not be considered for administrative review.
