At the November 1996 Trustees' Meeting, the ACCD Board unanimously approved changing the name of the Academic Center to the Truett Chance Academic Center in honor of the president and professor emeritus.

 The Truett Chance Academic Center houses laboratories, classrooms and the Departments of Biological Sciences, disAbility Support Services, Economics, Engineering Technologies, Government, History, Physics, Engineering, Architecture, Sociology, Social Work, and Student Health Services (Room 119).
