      FACULTY   SENATE     CONDUCTS   DISTRICT   SERVICES   SURVEY
      Throughout the months of November and December, the Faculty Senate will provide all SAC faculty members (including adjunct       faculty) an opportunity to evaluate district support to the campus .   The San Antonio College Faculty Opinionnaire Concerning District       Services will be available online and in MSWord format.   Confidential results will be given to the Department supervisor, the       Chancellor, and the ACCD Board of Trustees.   Although the online forms will automatically be submitted, the MSWord hardcopy       versions can be sent to John Deosdade at the SAC Library no later than Friday,December 19, 2008.   Your honest opinion and       constructive comments are welcomed.   To access either the electronic or the MSWord version of the survey,   CLICK this link:

      SENATE   ANNOUNCES   RESULTS   OF   2008 - 2009   PIPER   PROFESSOR   VOTE
      Senator John Deosdade, Chair of the Senate Elections & Surveys Committee, revealed that Ms. Liz Ann Baez       Aguilar, Associate Professor in the English Department, has been selected as the 2008 - 2009 San Antonio College       nominee for the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation's

    FACULTY   FILLS   VACANCIES   ON   SAC   TENURE   APPEALS   COMMITTEE
      During the September 23 - 25 Tenure Hearing Appeals Committee election balloting, SAC faculty selected the following three       faculty members to serve a 2008 - 2011 term on the committee:

    EMPLOYEE   SERVICES   RELEASES   NEW   FACULTY   SALARY   SCHEDULES
      The ACCD Employee Services Department has published these faculty salary schedules for the 2008 - 2009 academic year:
-            Full time Faculty Positions  
-            Part-time Faculty Positions

    SENATE   FILLS   OFFICER   AND   MEMBER   VACANCIES
      At its June 20th meeting, the Faculty Senate elected these senators to fill existing vacant officer positions:
- Chairperson - Paula McKenna
- Secretary - Dawn Elmore-McCrary
      Along with the previously elected Vice Chairperson, Stella Lovato, these senate members will hold office for the 2008 - 2009       academic year.
      With the resignation of three current senate members, the Faculty Senate has selected these April 2008 senate election runners-up       to fill the vacancies:
- Carlos Corona, Mathematics & Computer Science will serve a three year term from 2008 - 2011.
- Barbara Knotts, Media Services, will serve a two year term from 2008 - 2010.
- Bruce Norton, Economics, will serve a one year term from 2008 - 2009.

    SENATE   POSTS   ELECTION   RESULTS
      Stephen Dingman, Faculty Senate Elections & Surveys Committee Chair, has announced that these eight SAC faculty members       have been elected to three year terms running from 2008 - 2011:

    KALUDIS   IT   ASSESSMENT   IS   RELEASED
      Chancellor Bruce Leslie has provided access to the long-awaited
Kaludis IT Assessment that evaluates the ACCD's "district-       wide information technology environment."   Established in 1977, Kaludis Consulting has been working with institutions of higher       education to improve their decision making processes.   As noted in the report's introductory letter, the 72-page pdf document "will       help insure that college and district information technology environments are well planned, responsive to requirements, and       structured appropriately for continued success."
    TCCTA   RELEASES   2007   FACULTY   SALARY   STUDY    
      The Texas Community College Teachers Association has released an online version of its annual Survey of Faculty Salaries &       Benefits . The new format allows the expansion of the overall report to include supplemental benefits such as on-site child care, paid       dependent insurance coverage, release time, and sabbatical leave.   Salary surveys for previous years can be found on the senate       web page, Accrediting, Governmental, & Professional Organizations, under the TCCTA listing.
