Biographical Information

Dr. Kristine L. Clark is the Executive Vice President at San Antonio College.  Dr. Clark began her position with San Antonio College in July of 2006.  Prior to joining the executive team at SAC, she served for 25 years in a variety of higher education positions in New Mexico.  Her academic training includes a doctoral degree in Education Leadership from the University of New Mexico as well as Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communication Studies from Eastern New Mexico University.

During the 25 years that Dr. Clark spent working in New Mexico she held an array of positions in Academic Affairs and Student Affairs in both the community college and university setting.  Some of the positions she has held in Academic Affairs include Communication Studies Instructor and Speech Team Coach, Tutor Coordinator, Learning Center Director, Director of Cooperative Education and Internships, Associate Dean of Adult and Developmental Education, and Interim Dean of Adult and Developmental Education.  In addition she has facilitated many planning and decision-making teams and completed many projects geared toward instructional excellence including establishing and chairing a Curriculum Review Committee, setting up a mentoring program for new faculty, facilitating the Instructional Technology Team, chairing the Academic Policies Committee, and co-facilitating the Student Retention Team.   The positions she has held in Student Services include Dean of Students, Associate Director of Career Services, Field Office Director and Associate Director of Admissions.

During her career Dr. Clark has been recognized for her skills and expertise in facilitating teams and committees; for her collaborative leadership style; and for the contributions she has made to the learning environments in which she has worked.  She has presented at a variety of conferences on topics such as effectively integrating technology into the classroom, assessing and documenting student learning gains and communication strategies in the workplace.  Dr. Clark has also been active with and held leadership positions in a variety of professional organizations and is a certified “Evaluator/Trainer” for the CQIN (Continuous Quality Improvement Network) Program for Educational Excellence.

On a personal note, Dr. Clark enjoys travel, reading, and jogging with her husband (who she considers her best friend and companion); as well as the “experience-the-world” adventures they take together on their Harley-Davidson.  She also treasures the time spent with her children and step-children.  She loves the outdoors and appreciates San Antonio for the warm weather and the great places available for a hike or jog.
