Dean of Evening, Weekend & Distance Education
Biographical Information
Mr. Ruben Flores is the Dean of Evening, Weekend, and Distance Education. He has been the Dean of this division since May 1986 and was the Assistant Dean from May 1984 to May 1986.
Prior positions held include Director of the National Hispanic Field Service Program at the University of Colorado, Denver; Executive Director, Center for Training & Careers, San Jose, California; Planning Administrator, Planning Department,and, Administrative Assistant to the City Manager, City of San Jose, California. Dean Flores has an M.A. Degree in Urban Studies from Occidental College, a B.A. Degree in International Relations from St. Mary's, and an A.A. Degree from San Antonio College.
Dean Flores has served in various academic committees at San Antonio College, including Academic Council, Institutional Effectiveness, Access & Equity, and in search committees for the President and Vice President. He is responsible for the Adjunct Faculty Council and for assigning adjunct faculty to the various academic committees.
Dean Flores was a National Urban Fellow, a National Finalist of the White House Fellows Program, and a City Councilman and School Board Member in Del Rio, Texas.
