Educational
Multimedia Services is San Antonio College resource for audiovisual
and
multimedia support. This support includes meeting the needs of the
College
sponsored conferences and special events. Traditional audiovisual
support,
professional sound equipment, photographic, graphics, and state
of the art video and computer projection support are available to
assist with the presentations needs of your conference or special
events.

Graphics
Production
To produce the necessary materials for a clients event/conference
an initial meeting is needed with the graphics specialist(s).
Call Dana Morris, 733-2498 or stop by the Graphics Production
area (MLC 424) to begin your graphic project discussion.
A work order form must be completed which will provide contact
information, department account number and description of work to
be done.
Graphics Production unit is location in the Moody Learning
Center, fourth floor behind AV Circulation.
The Graphics Production offers professional design, illustration,
photographic imaging, pre-press and print-ready services using the
latest layout, drawing animation, logo designs, flyers, brochures,
banners and imaging software on high-end graphics computers.
There is a fee
for materials used for major events/conferences. In most cases,
a three months notice is necessary to prepare materials for major
events/conferences.
Photographic Services
The Campus Photographer provides experienced and professional
photographic services. The photographer is available to provide
in-studio or on location digital documentation of special events.
Contact Leonard Ziegler at 733-2108 to discuss your photographic
needs.
The photography unit is located in the Moody Learning Center
behind the
Audiovisual Equipment Service counter (MLC 424).
A three weeks advance notice is needed for campus conference
activities. Clients are encouraged to provide their photography
paper.
Videorecording
of Speaker at Event/Conference
The coordinator of a speaker or special event should thoroughly
discuss
equipment and service needs with the lecturer before making a request
to video record by calling 733-2501 or stop by the Moody Learning
Center, room 624.
Any person who agrees to be videotaped must complete a release
form. This form must be in the Educational Multimedia Center (EMC)
at least one day before recording session. The form can be faxed
to any client by calling EMC and it may be faxed back with proper
signature(s). Fax 733-2670.
If necessary, an appointment can be made to video record
speakers or other groups in our studio.
Please make requests at least two months in advance for videorecording
services for major event/conference. We do not loan out our equipment.
There is a small charge for the videotape or clients may
provide their own blank videotape(s).
Acceptable videotape formats are ½ VHS 30, 60
or 120 minutes.
Tele/Videoconference
and Satellite Services
EMC is available for broadcasting of tele/videoconference
or satellite downlink programs.
We can receive programming off satellites on KU,
C and digital-C bands. It is the clients
responsible to pay any fees for rights to broadcast programs.
We will assist any clients with licensing a program or arrange
a tele/videoconference by calling 733-2501.
Programming and reserving of rooms must be scheduled six
weeks in advance on a first come first serve basis.
The original license form or packet must be on file with
us at least one week before the event.
Our conference room seating is limited to 50 persons.
There is no charge for facility or technical services for
campus-sponsored events/conference.
Videotape
Duplication Services
Duplication of event/conference program videotapes may be
ordered through the EMC, 733-2501.
Provide EMC with your original videotape(s) for duplication
and please be aware of copyright permission, if applicable.
You may provide your own blank tapes(s) or provide EMC with
your department account number for billing.
Video duplication service requires at least a 72 hours advance
notice.
Questions
to think about before calling Educational Multimedia Services:
(1) If you plan to use your own laptop with our LCD projector, then
you will need
to bring it in for a compatibility test prior to event date.
(2) If you are not familiar with using audiovisual equipment, then
request a training session before your event/conference.
(3) Will you require on site audiovisual technical support during
your event/ conference?
AV Equipment:
Requests for AV Equipment for on campus event or conference
can be made at the service counter on the fourth floor of the Moody
Learning Center, room 412.
An AV equipment request form(s) is required for all equipment
needed.
Requests can be also be taken by phone by calling Sylvia
Cadena, 733-2500.
If required, we can assist you with obtaining public viewing rights
for films/movies.
AV Equipment Circulation provides: VCR/DVD players, overhead
projects, slide/tape projectors, TV/VCR carts, overhead projectors,
projector screens, cassette players, laptops, LCD projectors, 16mm
projectors, flip charts, and slide projects, just to name a few.
Majority of the public meeting and events located on campus
often require sound amplification; we can set up and operate the
sound systems for large public events. You may call 733-2500 to
reserve PA equipment.
There is no rental charge for equipment used on campus. Limited
audiovisual equipment is available for off campus event/conference.
Please give us a call if you need suggestions for vendors who lease
audiovisual equipment.
Four weeks notice is necessary to reserve equipment for major
campus events/conferences.
