Offered:
• Media Publicity: If appropriate, will contact the media
1. to invite the public
2. to invite the media to cover the event, and/or
3. to give the media news about the event. (3-4 weeks’ notice)
• Web Publicity: If appropriate, will place conference information
on PR’s “News and Events” webpage. (3-4 weeks’
notice)
• Update Publicity: If appropriate, will put a note in the
SAC Update newsletter, which is distributed weekly during the academic
year and twice a month in the summer to all SAC employees, key ACCD
personnel and board members, and more than 100 community leaders.
(Monday 5 p.m. deadline and included as space available.)
• Printed Materials Counsel: Will suggest ways SAC logo and
ACCD
Disclaimer (mandatory for community or student events) can be displayed
on printed materials, edit text, and/or offer general suggestions
for design/content created within a department. (Call Designer Dana
Morris in AV Graphics at 733-2498 for design of, and advice, regarding
print materials).
Questions
to think about before calling PR:
• Would the event be of interest to the general public?
• Do you want to invite the general public via the media?
• If your printed materials are intended for students or the
general public, is the SAC logo and ACCD disclaimer clearly visible?
• If a SAC logo is used, are the colors/design a true representation
of the logo? (Avoid distortions of the SAC logo.)
