Congratulations to student Mary Cokerham for winning a 2007 Coca-Cola Scholarship!

San Antonio College student Mary Cokerham is one of 400 students nationwide to be awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.  According to Foundation spokesperson Jennifer Grizzle, "All recipients have demonstrated academic success and participated in community service within the past 12 months."

• Must attend SAC in Fall 2008 with a minimum of 6 hours

• Incoming 1st year students (fall, 2008) or 2nd year students

•Active community service/volunteer work within the last 12 months

•Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident

•GPA of 2.5 -minimum

•May not be the children or grandchildren of Coca-Cola employees

In 500 words or less, elaborate on one volunteer activity in which you participated in the last 12 months.  You will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  1. History of the activity
  2. Impact on those served
  3. Impact on your life
  4. Evidence of leadership

Application due by May 1st, 2008.   The person selected to be nominated by San Antonio College will be required to complete an online application to Coca-Cola which includes biographical information, community or volunteer service and employment information.
