The American Red Cross, San Antonio Area Chapter is recruiting volunteers to assist with Hurricane Ike response.

If you are interested in volunteering, please register at the Volunteer Operations Center (VOC) at the Harry Freeman Coliseum, located at 3201 E Houston St.  Please use the Gate A (West entrance) off of East Houston St by the railroad tracks to enter.

The Volunteer Operation Center will be open and registering new volunteers from 7:00am to 7:00pm each day until further notice.

New volunteers will be asked to complete an information sheet (application), a background check and a disaster training session (approximately 1 hour or less). Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and provide a picture ID to volunteer for the Red Cross.  All volunteers will be given a temporary ID badge and obtain additional information regarding a specific assignment.
