Underage Supervision Rules
San Antonio College is an open campus and as such unsupervised minors are at risk. These requirements have been developed for their safety:
1. Minors should be accompanied by an adult at all times, schools and/or programs using school facilities should have chaperons for every five students.
2. When using the dinning hall chaperons should supervise their charges by walking around tables they are using not sitting with students or at a separate tables. Chaperons are responsible for maintaining their student’s noise level as well as insuring that students conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. Chaperons and all students should wear identification badges that state clearly their name and the program. Minors are not allowed the use or to enter the Game Room or the Cyber Café, as some games have violent themes and web content in the Cyber Café is not controlled.
3. Students (program participants) that have not paid the Student Activity Fee, are not eligible to participate in student activity fee sponsored events or activities. We recommend that special programs develop and fund their own events and activities for their student’s as the Office of Student Life do not focus on programming for minors. It is recommended that minors and adults not fraternize in an open campus unsupervised, social setting like the Loftin Student Center or in social activities and events.
