Dr. Karin Wilking is a Speech Communication instructor at San Antonio College and the Faculty Advisor of the Global Ambassadors Club. She received her BA in Communication from the University of Hawaii, a MA in Speech Communication from Miami University, and completed her doctorate in Educational Policy and Administration at the University of Minnesota. She has taught for the Maricopa Community College district in the Phoenix, AZ area, and most recently for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system (MnSCU) where she taught and served as Dean of Academic Affairs, Phi Theta Kappa Advisor, Dance Team Coach, and International Education Director. While at MnSCU, she developed programs and led several groups of students, staff, and community members abroad including: Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Japan, Namibia, France, Hawaii, Australia, and Costa Rica. She has served on numerous civic and corporate boards where she has actively worked to improve international and multicultural relations among a diverse population of community groups. Her hobbies include water sports, the theatre, traveling, dancing, and spending time with her husband and two children.
