Arts 1301
is a lecture
course which explores the nature of visual perception in
relationship
to painting, sculpture, architecture as well as a broad range of
aesthetic
objects and images created in diverse cultures and through time. A
special
focus is placed on the development and application of both
critical analysis and conceptual thinking skills. Emphasis is given to
social, cultural and historical factors that underlay style, technique,
creative process and social response to aesthetic works.
