This course will provide a survey of art in Western Europe, Asia, the Americas, Pacific Cultures, and Africa from approximately the thirteenth century through the twentieth century.  Special attention will be given to understanding the different cultural, historical, and aesthetic issues involved in making and using visual objects and ritual spaces.
