Members of the Student Art Guild meet weekly in the VATC Library Room 219
The Student Art Guild is a student organization whose purpose is to support and adovcate art and art education in the department, on campus, and in the community.  The Student Art Guild acts as host for the VAT exhibits and lectures, raises funds for scholarships, field trips, and other related activities, and sends representatives to campus wide events and meetings.  All currently enrolled students at San Antonio College who have an interest in art may join the Student Art Guild.
During the 2000-2001 school year, members of the Student Art Guild visited the Houston Museum of Art and Houston area galleries, and held an exhibition of members works at the Ellis Bean art space in San Antonio.

Student Art Guild members were also instrumental in keeping the VATC library open for students and presented videos weekly.  The movie "Basquiat"  and a video about the artist Goya were among those shown.

A trip to West Texas, to visit the outdoor sculpture at the Chinati Foundation and the Donald Judd Estate was planned for the spring.  Click here to find out about the Marfa trip!  Members also planned to exhibit their works in a gallery at Blue Star during Contemporary Art Month in July.
