3. Be able to discuss the issues:

    a.  What is the form, materials, and methods used in Indian miniature painting?  See page 751 and the inset on page 752.
    b.  Describe the differences in content between the Mughal dynasty and the Rajput.  See discussions on pages 753-754.
    c.  How is the popular Indian Hindu subject of Krishna and Radha often presented?  See page 754.
    d.  How is the Buddha and other religious subject matter presented differently in Thailand, Burma, and Vietnam?  See pages 757-759.
    e.   What are some of the issues in contemporary art of India and Southeast Asia? See page 760.

6.  Here is a very specific assignment:  locate two additional examples of contemporary (20th century) southeast Asian art and explain their relationship to traditional southeast Asian art. (Hint:  narrow your search down to one of the many styles and countries discussed in the text book). Send your one-page report through the LISTSERV.  See the Schedule for the date due.
7.  Pose a question and/or issue for discussion to the LISTSERV.  Then...participate in the discussion!  For extra credit...I'd love to see the illuminated manuscript page entitled "Layla and Majnun at School," on the Internet.  Search, then submit the URL to me!
