ART HISTORY SURVEY II ON-LINE
ARTS 1304-090 -- LISTSERV DISCUSSION

The Art History Survey II class participation and discussion is accessible as e-mail through a LISTSERV.  Regular participation in the LISTSERV (weekly during the fall and spring semesters, twice weekly during the summer semester) constitutes your presence in the internet class.  Failure to participate regularly will result in the loss of points from your grade for each lack of participation.  Please note that your discussions constitute 15% of your total grade.

Because the discussion comments contribute to your overall grade, they need to respond intelligently to what someone else has written, add more information or comment on a side (but related) issue.  Questions should be genuine and prompted by what someone has written or should seek clarification of someone else's comments.  No "slamming" and please pay attention to "netiquette."  Also, while you may compliment someone becasue you really liked what they wrote, comments like "good job" or "you wrote a really good paper" constitute evaluation, and that is your instructor's task, not yours.

Keep in mind that an internet class is not "an independent study" but is a group process, and participation in discussions is an important part of the learning process.

Your instructor will add your name to the LISTSERV on or about the first day of the semester.  You will be unable to enroll in the LISTSERV yourself.
