A non-profit organization for over twenty years, TASA's membership consists of Texas college and university art departments and their faculty.

TASA seeks to promote among colleagues the exchange of ideas and encourage creative and scholarly activity in the visual arts, support the professional work of teachers of the visual arts, and advance the visual arts in Texas colleges and universities

TASA can also present many networking and information opportunities for artists, faculty, and administrators. TASA is a vital network for those working in higher education in the visual arts. Engaging presentations and demonstrations at the annual conference and easy access to art faculty across the state through its membership directory are just a few of the advantages of being a member of TASA
