The Programs & Services for Women & Non-Traditional Student Department on the San Antonio College campus is a source of support and information.  Our department consists of four components:  the San Antonio College Women’s Center, the Seguir Adelante Community Center, the Mi CASA Community Center and Community-based Outreach Programs .

 The SAC Women’s Center was established in the spring of 1981 to provide comprehensive educational and other supportive services to meet the needs of displaced homemakers, women in transition and single parents in order to assist them realize their potential and capabilities. Over the span of over 25 years, we have developed an extensive array of services which enhance our student’s abilities, expand their resources and raise their self-esteem. The Women's Center was the recipient of the 2006 Model Program Award given by the  American  Association for Women in Community Colleges. (AAWCC)     

The Seguir Adelante Community Center offers Adult Re-Entry programs.  These programs were established to assist welfare-to-work and other individuals in need of basic skills upgrading and or training in order to start college or re-enter the workforce and ultimately reach ultimate self-sufficiency. 

The Mi CASA (Career Advancement & Self-sufficiency Assistance) Center is designed to serve the needs of residents located in the Tobin Hill, Alta Vista, Beacon Hill, and Five Points areas. The program assists low-to-moderate income families become self-sufficient by providing FREE career counseling, workforce preparation, home buyer education, health-related workshops, eligibility screening for social service assistance programs, college information, financial literacy, and more.

Our Community-Based Outreach Programs are offered as a service to the community and include the WE: Women Empowered Conference as well as the award-winning LULAC Rey Feo-Reina de la Feria de las Flores Parent/Child Program.  We invite you to browse through our website and get to know about our many varied programs and services.  We look forward to assisting you reach your academic and personal goals!
