Getting Started

 

This checklist is provided to help you understand the various steps involved in starting college. Our staff can help explain those steps as well as answer any questions you may have regarding starting school. Please do not hesitate to call or come by for assistance.

1. Apply for financial aid:
           -Visit the SAC Financial Aid Office, FAC 101.
            http://www.fafsa.ed.gov

2. Apply for admissions:
          -Submit official high school transcript or GED scores, FAC 216
          -Apply online https://www.applytexas.org

3. Obtain a referral from a counselor to take the Accuplacer Test
          -Take the accuplacer practice test by going to
          http://www.testprepreview.com/accuplacer_practice.htm           

4. Meet  with a counselor for course advisement

5. Register for classes
        -Online  http://www.accd.edu/    

 

    In person/on campus during final registration (see schedule for dates & time)
