Admission & Prerequisite Requirements
Students desiring to major in the Medical Laboratory technician (MLAB)
program must meet all the admission requirements for acceptance to St. Philip's
College and the Allied Health Department. These include the following:

- Allied Health Admission Requirements
All students must pass the English and Writing portions
of any recognized placement test (Accuplacer, ACT, or SAT) and be eligible to
take the last remedial course for Mathematics by the fall semester.
In addition to completing the application process, the student must pass a
criminal background check and drug screen. The student must also have
health insurance and a completed series of immunizations before beginning
clinical rotations.
Once a completed application has been received, an interview will be
scheduled with the program director during the summer. Classes begin in
the fall semester and enrollment is limited to 15 students.
