Radiography Technology

Application Process

Applications for admission to the Radiography Technology Program are accepted from October 15th to February 15th each year.  No applications will be accepted after February 15th at 5 pm. 

Students desiring to major in the Radiography Technology Program must meet all previous admission requirements for acceptance to St. Philip's College.

Students must also complete the Allied Health Department Application process, including submission of the following:

  • Allied Health Department Application Form
  • Autobiographical Statement including why you are interested in the Radiography Program as well as your short and long term goals.
  • Official copies of all college transcripts
  • Recent test scores (Pre-TASP, TASP, ACT, or ACCUPLACER)

In addition, criteria for the Radiography Technology application includes the following:

  • Must show eligibility of enrollment for ENGL 1301, MATH 1314, and READ 1370. (THEA or Accuplacer results-12th grade reading level or better.)
  • Required Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Successful completion of at least three (3) academic curriculum courses that are required by the program. Suggested courses from which you may choose include:
    • ENGL 1301
    • MATH 1314
    • BIOL 2404 or BIOL 2401 & 2402
    • ITSC 1301 or COSC 1301
    • PSYC 1301 or SOCI 1301 or HIST 1301
    • HUMA 1301 or SPCH 1311 or PHIL 1301

Students may also earn additional applicant points by submitting documentation of any of the following items with the application packet. 

  • Additional Certifications or Credentials in a health-related field.
  • Current CPR certification

Selection Process

Applications are reviewed during the Spring Semester.  Qualified applicants will be interviewed, and selections will be made at the end of the Spring Semester.  Each new class begins in the First Summer Session.
