| RADIOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGY | |||
The Radiography Technology Program strives to maintain a well balanced curriculum while offering highly technical courses to meet the needs of currently enrolled students, graduates, and students with special needs, domestic and foreign. In the two year program you will learn radiographic positioning skills with the aid of three energized radiography units. You will learn applied physics, osteology, pathology and terms pertinent to radiographic procedures. You will be taught exposure factor formulation, quality control techniques and contrast agents. You will experience on-the-job training in several medical centers in the metropolitan area and beyond. You will also have the opportunity to rotate to mammography, sonography, computed tomography, (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). As a radiographer, you will be engaged in taking x-rays of patients to determine the presence of disease or injury, or assisting the doctor with special procedures, some are computerized or digital. Most technologists work in hospitals, clinics, or medical imaging centers. Some may work in industrial x-ray facilities, such as museums and airports. |
