Program Accreditation & Licensure

The Respiratory Care Technology program is fully accredited through the Committee on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, and in compliance with essentials and standards of the Committee on Accreditation of Respiratory Care (CoARC). Upon successful completion, the graduates of the Respiratory Care Technology Program at St. Philip's College receive an Associates of Applied Science degree and are eligible to apply for the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), and several clinical specialty examinations.

In addition to the national CRT & RRT credentials, there is credentialing at the state level through the Texas Department of Health. Practitioners must apply for the state credential of Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP). You may contact the Texas Department of State Health Services at: (512) 834-6688.
