ITSE 1301 - Web Design Tools
Course Information

Course Description

Designing and publishing Web documents according to World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards. Includes graphic design issues and exploration of tools available for creating and editing Web documents.

Learning outcomes: Create a basic Web document; create and manage a website; and identify how the Internet functions with specific attention to the World Wide Web, e-mail, and file transfer.

Design and develop web sites using Adobe Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Flash.

Dreamweaver is the industry standard tool used by many Web developers and designers to create, edit, and maintain Web sites.

Fireworks is an image-editing tool with features specifically for creating and editing Web graphics, including animations, buttons, pictures, logos, and banners.

Flash is the primary tool used to create Web animations that incorporate motion, sound, video, and interactivity.

Required Software

Adobe Studio 8 - includes Dreamweaver 8, Flash 8 Professional, and Fireworks 8.

Note: The latest version of this software may also be used. This is Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Standard which includes Dreamweaver CS3, Flash CS3 Professional, and Fireworks CS3.

The college open lab in NTB 116 has the required software. Also, the Bowden 202 computer lab has the required software.
