IMED 1316 - Web Page Design I

Downloading the Data Files from the Textbook Site

The IMED 1316 Web Page Design I textbook data files can be downloaded from the textbook's web site. Follow these instructions to download and extract your files to your computer's hard drive.

To start, go to the textbook's data files site.

STEPS

Click the link for Chapters 1-3 Data Files

Step 1

When the following window displays, click the Save button.

Step 2

Save the file, 12422_Data1-3.exe, to a location on your hard drive. Make sure you write down where you are saving the file. This file is a compressed or zipped file. You will need to extract the data files next.

Use Windows Explorer or My Computer to display the saved file as shown below. Then double-click the file to start the extraction process.

When the following Warning displays, click Run.

The WinZip Self-Extractor dialog box displays. You can change where the files are saved by clicking the Browse button and specifying a location.

Otherwise, the default location is C:\Course Technology\Shelly Cashman\Dreamweaver CS3\Data.

Unzip

Click Unzip to extract the files to the specified location. The result should look as follows.

Click OK and then clickClose the button.

Return to Windows Explorer or My Computer and go to where the files were extracted. A compressed file is displayed for each chapter. These files will need to be extracted also.

Right-click each zip file to extract its contents. Follow the prompts to extract the files to your computer's hard drive.

Repeat the above procedure for each of the compressed files found at the textbook web site.
