Biomedical Equipment Technology
The Biomedical Equipment Technician is an integral part of the healthcare team, just as important
to the patient’s health and wellbeing as a doctor, nurse or medical technician. A modern hospital is a technological
marvel with sophisticated diagnostic equipment networked into a seamless information system.
The biomedical technician is responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining,
calibrating and operating everything from state of the art CAT scanners to simple blood pressure monitors.
Graduates of SPCs program are employed in large regional medical centers,
smaller community hospitals, commercial healthcare facilities, doctors offices, and independent contractors who
specialize in the maintenance and repair of medical equipment.
