"Our students develop the skills necessary to repair and maintain diesel powered highway, industrial, and marine vehicles and equipment. Advanced diesel maintenance techniques and principles are applied in diagnosing malfunctions and prescribing corrective action."
Diesel Technology Approach:
Emphasize diesel service management,as well as the theory and skills of refrigeration, electronic and mechanical fuel injection, chassis maintenance, vehicle inspection, tune-up, engine overhaul, transmission repair, brake service, and handling hazardous waste. Students may enroll in the program as their major in the fall, spring, or summer semesters going for a one year certificate or two year degree.
Career Opportunities:
Heavy duty truck technicians are needed throughout the entire diesel industry to repair and maintain one ton to class eight diesel trucks and vehicles.
Heavy duty truck technicians are needed for truck dealerships, independent garages, truck fleets, leasing companies or contractors; field service representatives for diesel engine manufacturers and distributors. Diesel service occupations also include service writers, warranty writers, parts managers, assistant service managers, transport refrigeration technicians, and basic shop mechanics.

Diesel Technology Program
The Heavy Truck Specialization curriculum is designed to train future technicians in maintaining and repairing heavy trucks. Upon completion of the course work, you may enter the field as an entry-level diesel heavy truck technician, or as a technician helper.
