Welcome to the Department of Natural Sciences. The Department of Natural Sciences strives to be an important force in the community, sensitive to the science education needs of a population rich in it's ethnic, cultural, gender and socio-economic diversity. The Department of Natural Sciences seeks to create an environment that encourages excellence in academic achievement while expanding its commitment to personal enrichment.

The Natural Science Division fulfills its mission by providing:

  • The first two years of science courses in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Geology
  • Transfer education for students desiring to attend a senior institution.
  • Teaching science courses that improve the basic skills of students whose academic foundations need strengthening.
  • Student advisement designed to assist students in achieving their educational and professional goals.
  • Departmental student support that includes, tutoring with computerized tutorial laboratory, videotaped labs for student purchase, published lecture notes and Summer Enrichment Programs.
  • Services and appropriate accommodations for special needs individuals.
  • Quality intellectual enrichment experiences for the community such as: the Natural Science Lecture Series, the Pre-Freshman Engineering Program, and the Science Fair.
