Reading, Education and Foreign Languages

Education

Education classes provide students with relevant and current instructional and learning strategies which prepare students for transfer to a four-year institution. The Teacher Education Program empowers students with the skills needed for jobs such as Teacher's Assistants, Paraprofessionals, Substitute Teachers and full-time classroom teachers.

Reading

Four developmental Reading courses are designed to prepare the student for college reading classes and the state-mandated THEA test. A College Reading and Critical Thinking course is also offered which enhances vocabulary, comprehension and critical thinking skills.

Foreign Languages

Recognizing the international influences of a global society, the Foreign Languages Program endeavors to provide students with a basic understanding and knowledge of additional languages and cultures. Several levels of Spanish, German and French are offered. For course information, please contact the Foreign Language Coordinator, Ms. Isabel de Pedro, at 531-3585, idepedro@accd.edu.
