Accuplacer

The Accuplacer is a computerized adaptive test. It consists of three sections- Reading, English, and Mathematics. There are four parts- three multiple-choice and one essay. The reading, sentence skills and elementary algebra portions are multiple-choice consisting of 12-15 questions each. These portions of the test are done on the computer, and they are not timed. The essay portion needs to be a minimum of 300 words, and the student is allowed 90 minutes to complete it.

The test is administered on a walk-in basis Mondays-Thursdays, from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00-11:00 a.m. There is a $15.00 fee for the complete test, and a $5.00 fee for each individual section needed.

Retesting Policy

A student is permitted to retest six(6) weeks after the initial test. The retest must be approved by an Advising & Assessment staff member or with a written recommendation from an instructor of the developmental course in which the student is currently enrolled. Students MUST show a picture ID each time they take the test. There is a $5.00 fee for each section they wish to retest on.
