First Time in College (FTIC)

The First Time in College Program offers special services and assistance to eligible students who are enrolling in college for the first time. The purpose of the program is to retain participating students beyond their critical first year of college where the majority of drop outs occur. Through extensive one-on-one student services and academic support, students are helped to adjust to college life and acquire the skills needed to become successful students. All entering freshman are required to take the Accuplacer assessment exam, so that they can be placed in the course that reflects their skill level.
