Certified Nurse Aide
This is a 152 hour course that includes lecture and clinical components, and prepares students to
take the state of Texas examination to become a Certified Nurse Aide by the
Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services. This program prepares
students become entry-level nursing assistants by achieving a level of
knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to provide safe care to the residents of long term care facilities/nursing
homes. Some of the
topics include: patient comfort and safety, range of motion for long term care
residents, communication skills, basic nursing skills, residents’ rights, etc. This training program is licensed by the
Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.
This class is $781.00.
You must submit a complete
application packet, and receive a formal
acceptance notification from us before being allowed to register for this class! Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Requirements:
- Students must first apply and be accepted into the CNA program.
- Students must be free of communicable diseases and in suitable
physical/emotional health to safely care for patients.
- Students must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Students must not currently be listed on the Texas Nurse Aide Registry
in a revoked status.
- Students must obtain proof of required immunizations. (see the list of
immunizations on the application packet)
- Students must be free of previous felony convictions, which will be
confirmed via the submission of a criminal background check. Background
check is due two weeks prior the start of clinicals.
