Basic Security Officer Course
This Basic Security Officer Program is structured to the meet needs of students whether they are interested
in the security profession or want to learn how to provide personal protection
and security. The training program is designed to prepare students for state licensure. St. Philip's College is licensed by
the Texas Commission on Private Security as an approved Level Three training
facility, which means this college is qualified to teach Level One, Two, Three,
and Four training.
Our Basic Security Officer
Training Program provides the necessary classroom instruction and
in-the-field training required to become an armed licensed security officer
in the state of Texas.
This program consists of a
minimum of 30 hours of training in commissioned security officer rules and applicable laws,
field note taking and report writing, and includes 10 hours of classroom and range instruction in
handgun proficiency.
All students must
be 18 years of age or older without a felony conviction.
