Student Counseling Services

Student Counseling Services serves as a counseling resource center and support system for the college.

SERVICES:

Individual counseling is provided to students by counselor interns in a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment.

Student Counseling Services is located in the Learning and Leadership Development Center (LLDC) of St. Philip's College. The Center is open from Monday through Friday, though hours do vary.

"WHAT CAN COUNSELING DO FOR ME?"

Counselors provide support for individuals who need assistance coping with their daily lives.

While counseling is tailored to each individual and his/her circumstances, there are universal benefits attributable to seeking and completing counseling:

  • Provides emotional and practical help and support for individuals, couples and families in crisis;
  • Helps people understand themselves and cope with and/or solve their problems;
  • Works to create harmony in relationships;
  • Helps people understand their feelings so that they can create new solutions and/or goals;
  • Provides an environment where individuals can practice new strategies and behaviors;
  • Helps individuals change negative thinking and behavior patterns;
  • Provides a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment for individuals, couples and/or families to work through life problems and situations.
