The Internet is available to anyone on campus with a wireless device that uses IP. Wireless access points are located throughout the St. Philip's College campuses to allow Internet access. Two networks are available: ACCDNet and ACCD_Unsecured_Guest. The first is available only to those who have an account on Active Directory and whose wireless device is configured appropriately. The second is available to everyone.
If your device is in range, you may see a stick meter indicating signal strength and/or a computer icon radiating radio waves. They're in the system tray on a laptop running Windows. Hovering over either one will result in a message window with connection information such as to which wireless network you're attached, signal strength and speed. If you're not connected, you can right click on the computer icon and then select "View Available Wireless Networks." You'll get a window showing available networks. If you're not connected to the network you want, select the desired network and click connect. ACCD_Unsecured_Guest is the correct choice for everyone except those who have an Active Directory user account and wish to connect to it. Most computers will automatically connect to ACCD_Unsecured_Guest.
If you connect to ACCD_Unsecured_Guest and access the Internet, you will initially be taken to a page where you acknowledge you will abide by the Acceptable Use rules. Fill in your e-mail address and click the Login button.
