- Dr. Adena Williams Loston, president of SPC, was awarded the 2007 National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Exceptional Achievement Award.
- In 2008, Dr. Loston was inducted into the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Inc., Educator's Hall of Fame.
- Alamo Area Aerospace Academy student Zachary Trede won the silver medal in the Aviation Maintenance Technology competition at the National SkillsUSA contest.
- Revis Bell, faculty member in Business Information Solutions, was elected as 2008-2009 President of the Texas Community College Teachers Association.
- Rafael Brisita, chair of MultiModal Transportation, was honored as 2007 Alamo WorkSource Workforce Professional of the Year.
- John Westerbeck, Coordinator of Veterans Affairs, received the Bill Pearson Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of meritorious service to the Western Association of Veterans Education Specialists.
