Transfer Center History
In spring of 1986, Pearl Conyers, committed to assisting
students interested in transferring to four-year colleges or universities,
founded the Transfer Information Center. In spring, 1990, the name was changed
to Transfer Center.
Shirley Fagan has been the Transfer Center Advisor since 1999 and is
essential to providing students with advising. Ms. Fagan is dedicated in helping
students reach their long term goals of graduating from St. Philip’s College and
transferring to the University of their choice.
Melissa Flores-Valencia has been providing career and transfer advising since
2004 for ACCD and is the Coordinator of the Transfer Center. As the Coordinator
she is responsible for ensuring that all students are aware of the Transfer
Center Mission, Objectives and Services.
