Fit City Coming to St. Philip's College

What is Fit City?

Fit City was created by the Bexar County Health Collaborative in 1999 to address the increasing rate of obesity and declining health of San Antonio.  Brought on as a Walk San Antonio sponsor in 2004, the YMCA of Greater San Antonio took over management and operation. of Fit City in 2005.  With available resources, operation knowledge and staff talent to enrich the program, the YMCA is dedicated to strengthening and expanding Fit City, thus affecting the health of our community.

Fit City Members receive:

-  A monthly body composition analysis which includes your weight, percentage of body fat, muscle and water.  Individual results are kept completely confidential.

-  A log book to track your minutes of physical activity each month.

-  Access to helpful health and fitness literature.

-  Incentive items for tracking your physical activity.  Some previous items included jump ropes, radios, workout towels and lunch bags!
